Potter citizens are urged to prepare for annual clean-up week starting next Monday. Ashes tin cans and trash should be placed in an accessible pile for pickup by the town truck, with manure requiring owner hauling and removal of all manure piles. Marshal John Nelson and a helper lead the effort as over a hundred loads are usually hauled away.
Pastor W. T. Kahse invites parishioners to Sunday Bible school at 2 15 and worship at 3 00. A district rally follows at Sidney church on Monday May 4 at 7 45 p m featuring Arthur P Black of Washington DC, renowned church activity leader and executive secretary of the Laymen's movement of the U S C. Do not miss this treat.
Dr. R. Tanner, pastor, invites all to regular services next Sunday morning and evening. The May 10 cantata will be presented, and those who sing have worked hard. Attend to give them a good hearing.
Byron J. Pavlat auditor states biannual audit of H. Stevens treasurer ledgers for Potter village Nebraska shows perfect balance and full accountability. Over $33,000 received mostly in small accounts averaging $3 to $7, with extensive book work. Commends Stevens and village board for honesty and capable management.
Chick Boyes players ending two seasons in Potter with a Saturday farewell double feature. First comes their play Love and Laughter, followed by an amateur program open to all with cash prizes. Entry is at the Review office with no registry fee. about six entries already on record.
The Woman's Club holds its next meeting on Thursday afternoon May 7 at 2 30 at the Methodist church basement. It is a benefit program for the library with a music theme led by Mrs Geo Ransom. All are invited. Lunch 10 cents.
Preaching service planned at Kirk Schoolhouse on Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Sarah Anderson leading a group of youths from Greeley Colorado. Community members invited to attend.
Mr and Mrs Ray Whekhorst announce the birth of a daughter named Inez Catherine on April 26 1936 at Kimball Hospital. Both mother and child are reported doing nicely.
Leona Anna Emma Hilpert 24 daughter of Mr and Mrs Benjamin Hilpert northeast of Potter died after scarlet fever. Born February 2 1912 in Perry county Missouri she lived most of her life in the community and was popular with friends and younger peers. Survived by her parents and two brothers Walter and Elmer. No public funeral held. relatives gathered at Rice Funeral Home Sidney for rites on Monday April 27 with Rev Boehnke officiating. Interment in the church cemetery northeast of Potter.
Alva Heimer aged 53 son of Dan Heimer of Potter was fatally shot by a friend at Powell Wigo while the pair were en route to a target range. The second shot ricocheted. Heimer died after emergency surgery. Coroner’s jury absolved Biay Easton. Heimer had not resided here since 1900 but in 1916 visited Potter Days. Family and friends attended his funeral in Powell.
Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Warner announce the marriage of their daughter Mildred to Morris R. Lane at Crawford Nebraska several weeks ago. The couple now reside in McGrew Nebraska.
School brief covers absences from illness in first grade Barbara Kaderli visiting relatives in Kansas. Students send letters to Dale McKinney in hospital, while others welcome new fourth grader Eleanor Hicks from Mina tare. Health poster winners named Eldon Tanner Ellen Kubes and Alice Heimer. Includes profiles of Carol Moench Pearl Hicks and Millard Musil with hobbies ambitions and school activities.

Potter high school hosts Golden Gloves boxing in the gym at 7 30 p m on May T. All six divisions include flyweight to heavy weight with three three minute rounds. Two judges and referee Raymond Slocumb will decide. Prizes awarded to division winners. Admission 10 cents.
Mr and Mrs Glenn Cummings and their daughter of Ponca Nebraska spent two days with R B Hill and family as they traveled to Portland Oregon Mrs Cummings and Mrs Hill are longtime schoolmates sharing memories during the stop.
The W F M S will meet next Wednesday May 6 at the home of Mrs Helsing with Mrs Wm Hagemister as program leader. All ladies of the community are cordially invited to attend.
At a Monday night meeting the softball season was set to begin May 25. Field lights will be available Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday nights. Hugo Harrison reports 10 or 11 teams expected with a single class. Each manager must list players and pay a 2.50 entry fee. this is the only season charge.
John Witt becomes the village trustees chairman, succeeding Alfred Arnell who stays on as a board member. Clyde Brady joins as board member, H Stevens reappointed clerk treasurer at 40 dollars monthly, John Nelson as marshal at 75 dollars monthly. Dr. W T Sloan remains medical member of the board of health.
The Potter village board, led by Chairman Alfred Arnell, with trustees Gunderson and Schwartz, held an April 28 1936 meeting at the Potter Review office. They approved minutes, accepted a biannual audit by Byron J. Pavlat, and read and allowed numerous petty and salary claims totaling various small amounts. Ballot results from April 7 1936 election were canvassed for trustees, police magistrate, and school board members, with several candidates elected. The newly elected trustees took oath of office and the meeting adjourned.
