Final plans are in place for a big dance next Wednesday evening by Potter Post No 291 American Legion. Music will be tres bonne with lively attractions, printed programs, and novelty features. It will be the first dance for the post and all are invited to attend for a memorable evening.
The Homesteader by Robert J. C. Stead ends this week amid reader praise. Francis Lynde's Wreckers starts in full page installments, printed twice as much weekly as other papers, inviting readers to follow week by week.
Readers across Dalton Chappell Lodge Pole Peetz Kimball Bushnell Pine Bluffs and nearby towns are urged to comment on the baseball theme. The call asks whether sentiment favors salaried teams or home teams and encourages early action to start the discussion rolling.
The Kimball Booster Band will give a program at 8 o'clock on Saturday, March 12 in the Leyfang Theatre. The lineup includes Hanover March My Country Its of Thee, Apple Blossom Waltz, Ruby Red March, Cornet and Baritone solos, and traditional numbers like Onward Christian Soldiers, Till We Meet Again, and The Star Spangled Banner, featuring various soloists and readings.
Lincoln McConnell closed our lyceum season with a lively talk on grouchiness. A small but appreciative audience heard witty, spirited lines from the speaker, who previously lectured in Potter.
The Rev Dr M E Gilbert will chair the combined 2nd and 3rd quarterly conference business session at 7 30 Saturday. Members are urged to attend and department officers to bring full reports. Sunday includes Communion, Sunday school at 10, service at 11 and Epworth League at 6 30 then another evening service at 7 30 with the theme Bondage in Freedom by the pastor.
The W C T U will meet next Wednesday at 2:30 PM at Mrs. Aug Mielke's home. The program includes song devotional business meeting discussion on encouragement from Union Signal and Union Workman, followed by social hour and refreshments.

Last Friday Potter high school girls basketball team were beaten by Sidney high school six 18 to 8. Potter led 8 to 6 at halftime but scored no goals in the second half as Sidney extended the margin. Miss Wallson scored four and Miss Oberg five for Sidney. for Potter Miss Brady and Miss Hagemeister each scored two.

HL L. Challburg traveled to the county seat yesterday visiting officials and inspecting regional administrative matters. The visit highlighted local governance activity and prompted brief discussions on county services and infrastructure needs.

At a Wednesday meeting Potter American Legion Post 291 discussed backing the Potter ball team and forming a league of about eight towns including Dalton Gurley Chappell Lodge Pole Peetz Potter Kimball and Pine Bluffs. The plan envisions two games weekly with each team paying travel costs and no guarantees, donations to a cash purse for top teams, and possible Legion sponsorship of the Potter squad.
A joint meeting of the American Legion and the Commercial Club of Potter is set for next Monday at 7:30 in Biggs hall. Legion members will present their proposition to the Commercial Club and seek backing. The meeting invites all baseball enthusiasts to attend.
Friday night action saw Potter lose 18 to 8 to Sidney after a hard fought start. Continued on page 5 mentions a summer rally and a meeting Monday night inviting opinions on home-material teams and self sustaining play.
