A big community rabbit hunt starts Sunday with teams chosen Saturday evening at the Farmers Union filling station in Potter. Entry is $1 with prize money returned to the winning side. losers fund feed. Rabbits counted Tuesday at 3 PM at George Jung place. sale proceeds go to hunters.
A record shows the $96.42 from the recent rabbit hunt was allocated to two cases of feed for $45, smoking expenses $9.50, Elmer Wills for accident expenses $20, rabbit hauling $10, and a $11.92 contribution to the Local Red Cross chapter.
The Rabbit Hunters express gratitude for the fine feed and warm hospitality extended by Wells and Leafdale restaurants during last Saturday evening.

The championship trophy won by the Potter Cootes at the class C tournament is now on display at Thayers Drug store for a week before being moved to the school's trophy case. Many people have already visited to view it.
A miscellaneous shower will be held Saturday March 7 1987 at 2 30 p m in the M E church parlors honoring Mrs Helen Tank Meester. Everyone invited by the committee.

Hostesses include Mrs Fred Vaughan Mrs Joe Nelson Mrs Ed Morrow Mrs Herbert Johnson Mrs Peter Nelson Mrs Fred Prince and Mrs Loren Wheeler. All invited.
Report from Lodge Pole on February tournament results. First round scores include Potter 40 over Goodview 12 and Sunol 45 over Lewellen 13. Lodge Pole defeated Gurley 48 to 15. Second round Potter 30 over Bushnell 16 and Sunol 24 over Lodge Pole 20. Finals set Potter and Sunol for first and second with Potter 36 Sunol 16. Lodge Pole third after 37 28 win over Bushnell. Consolation finals Lisco 52 Gurley 19. Winners: Potter first Sunol second Lodge Pole third Bushnell fourth. Lisco consolation.
Potter Coyotes coached by Ron C. Yale and captained by Byron Johnson finished the season with a strong 14 of 20 record. They captured the Lodge Polo class C tournament, went 8-3 in conference play, 3-3 non conference, and were undefeated on their home floor. The team beat Lodge Polo in the finals 36 to 16, with key results including wins over Sund and Broadwater and losses to Sunol Kimball and Sidney. SIA ve CeLAWiSALORY CONSEST announced that Poulter has been awarded the eliture. The event on Saturday, April 10 will feature extemporaneous speaking original oratory numerous readings and oratorical readings. One student can represent a school though five may enter in divisions. Superintendent Wiemers has sent invitations to prospective schools and hopes for prompt replies. Potter hosts the first such contest, welcoming visiting schools and the local community.
Potter Coyotes crushed Sunol 36 to 16 to win the Lodge Pole class C basketball tournament. Byron Yale praised every Potter player while captain Byron Johnson recalled his wrist injury after their strong performance. Sunol previously fell 24 to 20 to Lodge Pole in a tightly contested semifinal.
The junior high basketball tournament ends with the Texas Rangers claiming the championship and the Potter Yankees taking the consolation title. Also noted is a well attended Village caucus in Potter nominating Alfred Arnell Joe P Schwartz Stanley Davis Dean Hagemeister E S Hermansen George Gunderson Sr for two year board terms and Raymond Slocumb for police magistrate. The school caucus is set for March 15 with H Stevenis as chairman and N S Miller secretary.

Fred C. Johnson of Denver and Hagemeister attended the basketball tournament and called on relatives. Track about coal shipments on the Bear River mentions a rate of 7.50 per ton and three cars scheduled for tomorrow and the next two days.
The Lodge Pole Valley Music contest will be held March 12 at Lodge Pole. The note urges attendance to see how small schools perform in music. Junior high students study Sea Shore tests and time problems. Charlotte Enevoldsen earned 100 percent on a six week test. Lower grades practice songs for March. first grade pupils learn note and rest names.
Mr and Mrs Stanley Chapman welcomed a nine pound boy born Saturday February 20 1937. Former Potter residents, Mrs Chapman was Inez Challburg before marriage. Busy Neighbors club met February 24 at Mrs George Reetz home with lesson “Patterns and Their Uses” led by Mrs Coulter and Mrs Nielsen.

George Jung of Potter Nebraska advertises for sale good wheat straw at 2.50 per ton. Millard Music resumed duties last Wednesday in his traveling orchestra after a short vacation at home.
Mr and Mrs Carl Dahl of Westwood California announce the birth of a baby girl on January 25. The Dahlmans are former Potter residents.
