Island Home Rule Details at Isle of Man Parliament
The Isle of Man operates with its own home rule. British acts apply only when stated by law. The Tynwald court, one of the world’s oldest legislatures, includes the lieutenant governor, the council, and the house of keys with 24 elected members including women conducting equal voting rights. Measures require passage in both chambers and sovereign approval.
