Gas Fun and Farce from Potter Files and People
An eclectic column from Potter area notes mixes humor and local talk. It cites Jess Tompkins criticizing outsiders, recalls Steve at a Farmers Union picnic, and lampoons tax policy advocate Andrew Mellon. The piece weaves tall tales about winter rail fares, a wheat joke, potpourri poems by Herman Fricke, and a goofy potato bug baby scheme.
