Local items from Kimball Nebraska include travel to Sidney and Omaha for various residents, mumps cases reported, New Year events such as a masquerade ball with prizes, and community updates. Architects from Hot Springs inspected the new Potter school building, while plans for a No. 17 fag stop were deemed impractical in winter by the Union Pacific.
Pleasant View residents wished all a Happy New Year as Christmas was celebrated in the proper spirit. Evan Stine and family hosted Chas Kenner sley and kin for dinner. Will Gustafson and the Hicks Courtright families enjoyed gatherings. About thirty neighbors attended the Gustafson home Christmas night for dancing and dining. Ed Root visited from Sidney Draw for Christmas at Gustafsons. The Pleasant View schoolhouse Christmas exercises were well attended.
A list of civic resolutions urging residents to keep busy, boost the town, improve its appearance, promote local commerce, praise the town in letters, invest locally, avoid pointing out flaws to outsiders, buy locally, brag honestly, donate to town causes, and foster farmer town cooperation for communal improvement.

An extra gang layoff and a for sale notice for a horsepower well machine at NM E Triddle on Sec 10-12-55.
Win McAdam and family and Fred Nelson and wife were guests of Q R McAdam north of town on New Year s Day. Pete Christensen was taken to Sidney the first of the week suffering with blood poison in one arm. At last reports he was getting along OK.
