Seniors Named for University Regents Scholarships

John Clausen Sr 81 Dies After Prolonged Illness
Obituary: John Clausen Sr aged 81 died Sunday at his daughter's home in Dix after a long illness. He arrived in western Nebraska in 1883, served as Union Pacific section foreman, homesteaded near Dix, and held Kimball County political roles including county commissioner. He retired in 1912, lived in Nebraska City, Tecumseh, then Kimball County with children John Clausen Jr. and Mrs Gustav Wendt. Interment was at Tecumseh cemetery beside his wife.

The village treasurer’s annual report shows higher cash intake than expenditures for the period and a larger balance than a year ago. Four thousand dollars was paid on the bonded debt though bonds are not due for two more years. All operating fund cash comes from sale of electric current and water and a few minor materials. taxes support the light and water plant.
