Geo W Leafdale announces a large sale for Monday March 8 near Kirk featuring farm machinery horses hogs and household goods. Bills will be printed next week and major ads will run in the Potter Review Kimball Observer and Banner County News.
A deputy collector of internal revenue will be at Potter Nebraska on February 23 to assist taxpayers in preparing their federal income tax returns. No charge will be made for this service. The matter of filing your income tax return should be given immediate attention to avoid penalty and interest.
The Potter Library board ordered new books and leading magazines including American Magazine Success Human Nature Pathfinder and the Literary Digest. In Monday’s meeting in the library room present were Mrs F C Harris Mrs Wm Hagemister Mrs W T Sloan Miss Leola Rogers librarian and Mayor Clarence Johnson with Mrs A Nelson absent. A $25 donation from the Women’s Club will buy books and the board invites member input on preferred titles authors. Magazine subscriptions are financed by literary program receipts.
The Potter American Legion Post asks citizens to report any ex World War I veterans not yet members. The appeal targets farmers and harvest workers likely to know returning servicemen and offers information and aid through post officers. Signed by Commander L H Schwartz Adjutant Ray Arnell and Service Secretary Alfred Arnell.
J. F. Hanson of Fremont visited friends in Potter last Friday and explained the new Oregon summer fallow machine to many. A well known landowner and investor in eastern Oregon, Hanson is a strong advocate for improving agricultural conditions.

Potter teams completed their conference schedule with a record of nine wins in eleven games, scoring 225 points to opponents 153. They beat Kimball 26 to 19 and 19 to 14, with strong showings from Bruce, Francis, Bert, Walter, Arvid and guards Ge meinhardt and Tinsley. The boys, led by coach Place, earned praise for clean play and loyalty from Potter supporters who traveled to Kimball and Sidney.
The Women's club will convene Friday February 26 at Mrs. W. T. Sloan's home. The program includes parliamentary drill and current events with a talk on Nebraska birds by Jean Netta Sloan and a National Parks segment by Melba Biges. Members urged to attend.
D C MacGirvin aged about sixty a resident of Sidney was instantly killed Thursday afternoon when his car was struck by Union Pacific train No 26 at Brownson He had recently moved to Sidney from Sterling to take a Raayleigh household remedies agency He leaves a widow and five children The train bound for the west parallels a farmer watching corn near the crossing as the car entered the track The car was demolished and the body moved to the Bonham morgue The incident recalls a previous fatality linked to the same train at Lodge Pole.
An alleged poker game at the ball park grandstand Sunday afternoon ended when law officers arrived. About eight or nine youths pleaded guilty and received a suspended sentence of $50 and thirty days in county jail with admonition to sin no more.
The Cheyenne girls face Potter tonight on Cheyenne’s floor in a showdown sparked by Potter’s lone loss this season at Cheyenne. Lucille Douglas leads Cheyenne’s strong forward corps and the Potter guards aim to curb her scoring as both teams bring balance and sharp defense to a live, anticipated contest.
