School Observes Wilson Burial in Moment of Remembrance

The Potter public school marked the hour Wednesday when ex president Woodrow Wilson was laid to rest. At 2 o'clock students rose and sang America Flag of the Tree and Lead Kindly Light then stood with bowed heads for thirty seconds in tribute to the departed leader.

The John son Cords store hosted a guessing contest on English walnuts in the window for two weeks. 3913 nuts counted, 3914 including the judge. Gust Cavalli won $4.00 with 1320, Frank Hruza second with 1325, and a three-way tie for third at 3900 among Frank Hruza Art Nelson and Mrs Quein.

Lean Men Triumph In Furious Local Basketball Brawl

Lean men defeated corpulent rivals in a Monday gym game. The lean team vowed another win would be their finish. Proceeds from the evening fund Potter team travel to the Chadron tournament.

IRS Representative to Visit Potter and Nearby Towns

A representative from the Internal Revenue Service office of the Collector of Internal Revenue will be in Potter on February 18 to assist taxpayers with filing income tax returns. He will then travel to Nimball on the 15th and 16th, Dalton on the 19th, and Sidney on the 20th 21st and 22nd.

Heavy Snows This Week End Marks Short Winter Burst

Last Saturday was warm and sunny but sudden changes hit the region with a strong wind and falling snow. Sunday saw a near-blizzard that threatened a real storm before abating by noon and leaving deep drifts. A further inch fell Tuesday night without wind, followed by mild days and partial melting for a total precipitation of 0.54 inches.

Married Fats and Lean Benedicts to Stage Real Game

Next Monday night in the high school gymnasium the fats and leans will engage in basketball again, but only mined men may participate and all single men are barred from playing. Games start at 8 with admission of 20 and 35 cents. Net proceeds help defray Potter team expenses for Chadron tournament.
