Old Timer Barnett Stevens Remembered In Rockford
Barnett Stevens a former Nebraska pioneer and long time Rockford resident died Friday evening January 16 in Rockford Washington. Born September 22 1856 in Monroe New York he homesteaded in western Nebraska in 1884 and later moved to Rockford in 1903. He retired in 1929 and celebrated a golden wedding anniversary in 1941. Survived by Mary L Bolles his wife two daughters Helen Stevens and Ruth Morrison two sons Herbert and Homer eight grandchildren a brother Herbert and a sister Augusta plus nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Methodist church with burial in Fairview cemetery Jaeger Funeral home of Fairfield in charge.
