Obituary for John Henson of Dewitt and Elm Creek
John Henson born May 2 1848 in Louisville Kentucky died aged 65 7 26. Civil war orphan who moved to Dewitt County Illinois with wife Melissa Roby eight children Molen Grassmer Loren Redington Oley Redington Minnie Thornburg Cora Ochultree Ella Beatrice and Bessie who died in infancy. He farmed in Elm Creek Nebraska then near Potter Nebraska. Converted to Christianity in 1894 under Rev Wickham Overton Nebraska. Survived by wife and seven children all but three with him in final battle. Interment at Gibbon last Friday.
