Over a million dollars entered the community last year from exports shipped in car lots. Dairy and chicken cash flows add to the total, underscoring the financial strength and prosperity of the community.
The February literary program, changed from Tuesday to Wednesday the 8th, features four high school classes each delivering 20 to 30 minutes of student entertainment. After all performances the audience will vote for the best act with prizes awarded, and organizers urge early attendance as the hall will be crowded.
An Arizona Cowboy will be presented by the high school on Wednesday February 15 under Supt W A Johnson who has guided a capable cast through diligent rehearsals Watch for a fuller notice in next week's Review The C A Larsen home hosted a Kensington tea last Saturday with Mrs Larsen entertaining honored guests and a luncheon served at 5:00 pm Attendees included Mrs Martin Leafdale Mrs Jennie Mac Adam Mrs Kate Hansen Mrs Emma Olson and many neighbors and children
Regular church gatherings held at 2 30 p m conducted by Rev Alber inviting all who wish to attend.
Ed McGowan and Miss Helen May Juells were married by county judge Tash at Alliance on Wednesday January 25 at 4 00 p m. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr and Mrs Roscoe Madden. They plan to live in Potter. The bride daughter of Geo Juelfs, Potter, a Potter school graduate, active in business. The groom son of W C McGowan, Potter, with many friends. The couple were honored by a lively charivari gathering last Friday evening.
The Troy Methodist Church will hold regular services next Sunday after a successful E L Institute. Sunday school begins at 10 am, morning worship at 11 with the sermon Jesus Only. Epworth League meets at 6 30 pm followed by an evening service at 7 20 pm The Measure of a Man. Everyone is invited.
The American Legion Potter Post 291 sponsors a dance to be held in Potter on Saturday February 4 1988. Gaius orchestra Pane.
The Royal Neighbors of America will hold a regular session on Tuesday evening February 7 hosted by Mrs. Jess Tompkins Mrs. C A Larsen and Mrs. Wm Higgins Members urged to attend Visiting Neighbors welcome.

In January attendance was strong with twelve students never absent. Several pupils missed days due to illness, while Mary Lois visited Gordon and recited Victor Hugo. Kathryn missed her first day all year. Mary Lois and Charlen joined for visits.
Kenneth and LaVerne Wickstrom were absent Tuesday afternoon. English classes finished booklets used for semester work. A skating party after school Wednesday left students chilly but healthy, and plans to move ice pond closer were noted. In art, fifth grade made George Washington hatchets. Seventh and Eighth Grades report Mary McKee absent Monday due to illness and welcome a new member.
Potter defeated Sidney 26 to 20 last Thursday evening in a hard fought game, then lost a two overtime battle to Kimball 15 to 14 on Tuesday. Miller refereed the Sidney game and Miller of Lodgepole officiated the Kimball contest before 400 spectators. Kimball won on a late free throw in the second overtime.
Potter's second string defeated Sunol first team 6 to 7 in a preparatory game for the Kimbal meeting. Each side mis British tallied mainly on fouls with only one field goal per side. Players for Potter included Harold Brett Frederick Harris Ferdie Anderson Harry Witt Arthur Leafdale Paul Bundy and Maynard Mayer. Referee was Clarence Rogers.
About 400 people attended the Potter Kimball game Tuesday evening. Door receipts totaled roughly $147 with around $30 of season tickets used for the game. The writer believes the attendance was the largest ever to witness a game in Potter.
Paxton Times reports a special bond election in the Paxton irrigation district with three director districts voting. Unofficial totals show 18 in favor and 8 against a $63,600 bond series due 1938 to 1948. The district spans about 4800 irrigable acres from west of Roscoe to Dexter siding, with a ditch planned to run above Paxton and water supplied by river underflow in dry seasons.
Grim Reaper claimed two respected local pioneers in succession last Monday evening. Wm Schuler Sr died after a year of cancer and pneumonia treatment in several cities while John N Scherer passed minutes earlier from long suffering. The neighbors in life, their passing marks a shared farewell in a quiet, extended illness narrative.
