A quarter million dollars reached Sidney on Sunday as the first wheat allotment for the county. Officials expect to disburse funds quickly and mail cards to farms in order of entitlement. Kimball county allotment arrived a few days earlier.

Local households from Antelope Divide report numerous Sunday dinners visits and calls. A Jolly Neighbors Club gathering is noted with a luncheon.
Miss Onal Bevee is vacationing in Potter this week, staying with friends and enjoying local sights. The visit includes social gatherings and exploration of nearby landmarks with fellow travelers.
The Potter Coyotes have two home games next week against St. Patricks five on Tuesday and Bushnell on Friday, with a current six wins to one loss after Friday's victory over Gurley. Tonight they play at Bushnell.
J. C. Bartlett returned from Denver with a new counter refrigerator for the Corner Store. The unit features three glass thicknesses to reduce glare and better display meat products. Its black and white decoration enhances the store’s appearance and usefulness.
The Legion announces a dance this Saturday featuring the famous wild Canadian orchestra from Pine Bluffs led by Ed Land. Tickets cost 75 cents. The event is a popular local social and music night.

Reverend Slocumb of Kimball spoke to the assembly on Friday about the word sand meaning courage. He broke the word into letters each symbolizing an aspect of education and warned of two future paths. One steep and demanding leads to success, while the valley path is easy but ends in failure.
Bernice Babcock defeated Edith Anderson Edna Van Pelt beat Rita Miller Jeane Nelson won over Marie Robertson and Helen Carlson overcame Doris Tutt in week long Ping Pong tourney. Gladys Smith topped a World History test with Virginia Thurston second place.
The Bushnell school superintendent announced a 15 cent charge for students attending Friday’s game in Bushnell on February 2. The update informs Potter High School students of the new fee and the event date.
The senior girls entertained the senior boys at a dance party at Margaret Harrison's home Monday evening. Twelve seniors and Mr. Lancaster attended. The girls served ice cream and cookies. All, including Mrs. Lancaster, looked sleepy and happy Tuesday morning.

George Reardon aged 53, longtime Kimball resident since 1918, was found dead in his room at the Brown hotel. Heart failure was listed as the cause of death.
Directors of C. W. A. labor in Ke ith county order firing all shiftless labor and weeding out shirkers, replacing them with men more willing to work. The directive aims to improve productivity and efficiency in local projects.
Geraldine Frazer of Pine Bluffs 4H club won first in home economics at Denver with Dora McDolan earning third place in individual scoring.
Pine Bluffs city clerk and manager of the men s tog gery at that place was stricken with cerebral hemorrhage and his left side is completely paralyzed.
Two thousand dollars is allocated to the Wild Cat Hills game reserve. workers are fencing 550 acres of the 830-acre tract. The preserve currently hosts 23 elk 15 buffalo and 8 deer.
Sheriff A Webb and Deputy Roy Clark of Morrill court arrested Lester Lentz of Mitchell for stealing. He pled guilty and received a four year sentence in the reformatory.
Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Bendixon and Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Tell of Dix celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversaries last week. Bendixons were married January 27 1884 and Tells January 28 1884.
Wyoming labor figure Guy DeCastro died at Cheyenne. A Sidney native and early Kimball resident, he was the son of a former cashier of the Bank of Kimball.
H. C. Blomer of Dalton sustained facial and arm injuries when a feed grinder belt flew off striking him in the face and left arm. Several stitches were required for the facial wound and the arm suffered heavy bruising.
John Van Housen formerly of Peetz reelected secretary. John Fehringer of Peetz elected national convention delegate and Hugh Williams chosen conductor.
Amounting to six thousand two hundred twenty five dollars has been allotted for Civilian Conservation Corps work at Lake Minatare. The project chiefly removes underbrush and clears timber from the waterline. The lake currently hosts quail geese ducks and pheasants.
Harry Butler, president of the Broken Bow rodeo, has been hired by Gentry Bros of New Harmony Indiana to direct construction of grandstands, corrals, chutes, and related facilities. F A Gentry promotes a home town rodeo next summer, with Butler taking charge of the event and the Custer County Chief handling much of the printing.
Gurley hunters advertised last Sunday that Sheriff Schulz would be cithand to ensure good sportsmanship. Coyotes would be auctioned to the highest bidder at the center ring, with proceeds to charity and to finance future hunts.
Vy LeRoy Larson has been confirmed as Sidney postmaster succeeding I L Pindel who has held the office since 1920 under Wilson and five presidents. The outgoing postmaster had served since September 1920 and was praised as a conscientious official, though Terry calls the appointment a political move.
