Rabbits are damaging winter wheat as hunting reduces numbers but green fields attract more. Poisoned corn shows results with caution to protect livestock. fourteen dead rabbits found on west half 15-14-53 Tuesday morning. County agent and experienced farmers can provide guidance on bait preparation and safety.
Commander L H Schwartz reports the fourth district American Legion is close to full membership with only a few more to reach or exceed 100 percent. He visited Gering Scottsbluff Steningford and Alliance posts, predicting full quota by next Tuesday. Potter post has long been over quota. Winners in the merchants gift shower included Emil Tank R L MacAdam R S Myers and many others with prizes from local businesses.
Pastor C R Tanner invites all to Sunday worship on New Year and December 31 watchnight at 8:30. Devotional services end with lunch served. January 4 10 preaching mission with services nightly at 7 30. Plan to attend regularly.
Mr and Mrs G L Rogers now reside at Wayne Nebraska where he holds a caretaker position at the state teachers college. They miss Potter friends and say the Review is a welcome visitor each Monday. Francis Rogers has a new promotion in California tied to time study duties at a packing plant. Mr and Mrs Chas Smith and family are in Chicago planning Christmas holidays.
Roy Nelson warns that he has spread rabbit poison about 7 miles north and 4 east of Porter. Livestock owners are advised that leaving animals to roam is at their own risk. 12mima.
Word from Omaha indicates doctors fear for Mrs Thomas Iverson's condition after a serious operation last week. A fever and pneumonia threat loom as well. Mr Iverson and Mrs Joe Johnson plan to travel to Omaha tomorrow to visit her.
Mr. and Mrs. Jess Tompkins Irene and Bernice Mrs Tompkins' mother Mr and Mrs R A Babcock Bernice Phyllis and Janice and Miss Helen Jones of Sidney attended the community sing last Friday evening. The Babcock twins presented the surprise number on the program.
W. W. Hazeltine of Cawker City Kansas spent last week at his sister Mrs Wm Lowdon's home. The Lowdon family left last Friday with him to return to Cawker City to celebrate Christmas with relatives.
Christmas vacation started this week with Wednesday at 4:00 P M and ends January 4 at 9:00 A M. Several teachers are away with parents and friends while many students are visiting out of town friends.
The schedule adds two new courses Vocational Civics and Economics taught by Mr. Wiemers. Afternoon periods are now 55 minutes instead of two one hour blocks, and several classes will meet at different hours in the second semester.
The current semester ends January 8 with final examinations offered the last three days of the six weeks after holidays. Normally exams occur the first three days of week six, but students returning from Christmas justify postponing exams to the latter part of the week.

Mrs Pritchard and Mrs Kaderli visited our room last week. Leona Jane Tank cannot attend school currently and we wish her a speedy recovery. Marjorie Smith is absent this week after traveling to Chicago with her parents for Christmas vacation.
Those absent due to illness last week were Tommie Kubes, Orlin Ul fis, and Merle Mathewson. The Meadow Larks received new primers this week as an incentive to better studying. First grade children drew names and find it an enjoyable experience.
