Broadwater news reports Jerry Gullion narrowly escaped as a meteorite struck near his farm ten miles northeast of Broadwater on July 17. The object buried 18 inches in the ground beside his cultivator shank and was found hot, about a foot long, eight inches wide, four inches thick, mostly stone with no heavy metal, later displayed at Union State Bank.

A New York writer recalls Fred Fussel, once a Pittsburgh regular, rising to fame after a midseason shift from Buffalo to Albany. He threw a no hit no run game against Jersey City on June 28 and followed with a 4 to 0 win over Newark on July 2, extending a 22 inning scoreless streak and helping Albany rise to sixth. Car Wreck Near Gothenburg Involves Faden Family
Mr and Mrs Frank Faden of Banner county and their two children were returning from the Chicago Fair when their new car was struck head on by a truck driven by Harry Unsicker of Holyoke Colorado. The car left the road and rolled over three times into a ditch. Mrs Faden suffered a cut above the left eye while Mr Faden and the children escaped with bruises. They traveled home by train.

Bankers report winter wheat averaging 12 bushels and spring wheat 14, with most south of Potter yielding three to four for winter and four to five for spring. North of Potter toward Dalton many fields looked promising at 20 to 30 bushels, but hail ruined them. Northeast Kimball county hit by hail and heat. one field showed 40 bushels appearance and 15 bushels actual yield.

John E. Sanders 1853 1933 rested in grounds he loved near Potter Nebraska after a Long Beach California life. Hundreds attended the service at the Sanders home miles northeast of Potter.
