Pine Bluff Party Fatal Accident Claims Two Lives
Thomas IE Robinson 60 and Charles 16 were killed when their car collided with a Burlington bus west of Pine Bluffs on Friday night. Dorothy Harvey 15 and Leland Lewis 17, passengers in the car, were badly injured but expected to recover. Bus occupants suffered minor injuries. Witnesses said the car traveled about 40 mph and the bus 50 mph. The Robinsons, prominent Pine Bluffs citizens, followed by a large turnout at Sunday funeral services, with bodies shipped east for interment.

Grant Brady of Potter and Peru dies after long illness
Grant Brady born September 4 1865 near Humboldt Kansas, moved west to Harrisburg Nebraska, filed three claims, married 1894 to William E Salisbury. Survived by eight children and ten grandchildren. Lived near Potter and later Peru Nebraska where he died July 21 1935. Funeral at Peru Methodist Church conducted by Rev F U Harris with a quartet.

Rusty hay feed approved for livestock in widespread rust areas
With red and black rust in wheat fields countywide, researchers asked if rust infected wheat hay could feed sheep cattle and horses. Dr. J. J. Fiegenschuh and C. P. Herbolds heimer reported to Mohler chief of animal industry that it is not harmful. This will allow farmers to use otherwise unprofitable wheat as hay.

Andersons Celebrate Golden Wedding in Fort Collins
O E and Mrs Oscar B Anderson of 618 Stover Street observed their golden wedding anniversary with children and friends. Eight children, 24 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren attended. The couple, married July 25 1885 in Holdredge Nebraska, have lived in Fort Collins since 1918 and belong to the First Presbyterian Church. The family gathered at City Park for an outdoor lunch.

Lightning Destroys Transformer During Tuesday Storm
A severe Tuesday lightning storm caused a transformer to burn out at the light plant. Engineer Christensen on duty reported the town lost power for about an hour and the area remained dark overnight until a new transformer could be installed. Zoning changes in the distribution system allowed remaining sections to receive power despite the fault in one transformer. No direct lightning strike on the lines was believed, only arcing burned the transformer. The storm was the season’s most intense so far.

Bearcats win a well played game from Big Springs 4 to 3 in a low attendance contest. Hornby strained finger allowed three runs in the seventh as Big Springs led 3-1 before Potter, Shea, Slack and Stecher sparked a Bearcats comeback with a decisive bunt scoring the winning run in the ninth. Next Sunday they travel to Ogallala with no more home games scheduled.
