The opening season exhibition between Potter and Kimball will be at the Potter diamond next Sunday at 2 30 in the afternoon. Adults pay 25 cents admission. Come out and see the Bearcats in action.
Cheyenne county spelling contest set for Sidney Junior High assembly room on Saturday April 14 at 10 am. Open to 5th through 8th graders. State teachers examinations to be held at the Sidney courthouse on Saturday April 21 1934. Gene Nelson County Superintendent.
Sunday afternoon, April 8, 1934, at the Elmer Jacobson home northwest of Potter, Mar guerite Grace Jacobson and Ernest M. Ogard of Bridgeport united in marriage. Rev. L. V. Slocumb of Kimball performed the ceremony. The couple will reside on the ranch south of Bridgeport, with numerous local relatives and friends in attendance.
Brownson reports a Farmers Union gathering at N J Nelson home Saturday night. Mrs Emixg Williams and sons visited August Thief home in Potter Sunday. Fred Malone and children spent Sunday with the Jeffies family on the Geo Stormberg farm. Levi McLaughlin and wife welcomed a son at Taylor hospital. Club meets Thursday. Van Pelt honored at birthday party Wednesday evening arranged by his daughters. Jasper Jones and others called on endgy kidney business. Palmer Thurston and family visited Van Pelt home Sunday. Wdna Van Pelt Luberna and Paul Morfed visited Kimball youth friends Sunday.
About 150 to 200 locals gathered at the depot to view the new bullet shaped diesel powered train on its inaugural run. The locomotive paused for 90 minutes in Sidney with crowds touring the car and a turnout near 1100 onlookers expected to see its doors open.

The Bert R. Ferris stock company opens in Potter at Seyfang hall April 19 with Thursday shows and a changing program of plays and vaudeville. Local merchants sponsor the running, tickets cost 15 cents, and the opening play is Bought and Paid For, a proven success.

At a town board meeting on Monday, the marshal’s office was declared vacant. Incumbent Karl Fricke surrendered the office and village equipment. Herman W. Mipench was named marshal and sworn in, to serve until the board reorganization on April 24 when fiscal year appointments are made.

Friends gathered Friday evening to celebrate Wm Helsing’s birthday with a supper. Guests included Mr and Mrs Wim Hagemeister, Lee Hagemeister and family, Dean Hagemeister and family, and Miss Alice Morrow. Helsing was in agreeable surprise at the turnout.

Marjorie Johnson and Donald Chapman rank first and near top in second and first all subjects.
AN invites the public to Potter High School this Friday morning. At 10 30 a group of twenty scholarship and debating letters and one letter to the cheerleader will be presented. A local man is hoped to be secured as speaker. Several musical numbers will be given.

A miner truck driven by L. E. Miner and E. J. Shannon of Kimball went into a ditch at Brule's south edge. After sliding in the ditch the front end hit the bank, upsetting the truck and tearing off the top. The load of 250 cases of eggs for Omaha was scattered across the lot. Neither man was hurt.
Mrs A Jollensten 70 died at her home in Ogallala after immigrating from Sweden. She lived in Akron Minnesota and Red Oak Iowa before moving to a claim north-west of Ogallala with husband August Jollenstan. They later settled there. four daughters and one son survive.
James E. Van Zandt national commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars addressed two Gering gatherings drawing more than 1500 attendees. He criticized the current administration and called the economy act very vicious. At one meeting local candidates A. N. and Harry B. Coffee expressed support for the bonus payment.

Death claimed Mrs. C A Glassburn Monday evening at a Sidney hospital where she had been for treatment the past few weeks. She was the mother of Mrs Ed Nelson of this community. Funeral services were to be held at Sidney on Thursday afternoon of this week.
A record breaking attendance filled the newly remodeled Benish Hall north of town last Sunday for its opening dance. People traveled from miles away to cheer the christening of the improved, redecorated venue, one of the largest crowds seen in the area.
Leland Wallick is in Cheyenne under specialists after an eye abscess from sinus trouble was lanced. The bone above the eye was affected. he will stay for a couple of weeks with his mother, B. L. Carter, and with his uncle O. D. Wallick while relatives hope for a rapid recovery.
Casper O Ellison aged 69 died in Los Angeles while wintering there with his sister Mrs A Peterson of Chappell He came to Lodge Pole in 1884 from Urshan Norway at age 20 worked around Lodge Pole later homesteaded northwest of town Then moved to Lodge Pole in 1918 He is survived by two sisters and one brother in America and two brothers in Norway.
