The badly charred body of Robert W. Meiklejohn 52 was found in his ranch home at Labelle five miles northeast of Rigby after a Sunday morning fire discovered by neighbor John Dilts. Man Burned To Death In Boulder Ore Mine Fire
George Pitts aged 50 was killed after being pinned under a pile of ore in a blazing furnace room at the Callahan mine near Boulder Montana. Rescuers recovered the body after a day and night search and transported it by sleigh over a snow bound mountain road. The ill fated mill, built to replace a prior plant, was destroyed in the blaze.
