Chicago mayor Anton Cermak dies in Jackson Memorial Hospital at 7 57 a m Eastern time after injuries from a February 15 assassination attempt on President Roosevelt. He had battled colitis heart failure pneumonia and gangrene in the bullet wound and died peacefully surrounded by family and doctors. Jay, also wounded, remains in critical condition.

She previously operated the Remington hotel in American Falls and later managed the Terrell hotel in Pocatello. Survived by husband, mother in South Dakota a sister in Meecklin and another in Hormick Iowa a 17 year old son from a former marriage. Funeral arrangements pending at Downard Funeral Home.
