Funeral of William R Kidd Held Today
One of the largest funerals in Pocatello marked the burial of William R Kidd a passenger conductor killed by a gunman. Services were at the Methodist church at 2 30, with Rev W S Woodhull and the Masons led by the Order of Railway Conductors. The cortege included police, Boy Scouts, railroad officials, lodges, and family relatives from Washington Boise and Utah.

Thousand Turks Slain By Rebels in Arabia
Rebels in heavy force ambushed a Turkish column led by Mahomed Ali Pasha near Gheesan on the Red Sea route north of Hodeidah. About a thousand Turkish soldiers died and five hundred were wounded as survivors fled. The gunboat Sutebbe shelling Gheesan killed or wounded hundreds. Rebels seized four large guns two Maxims two thousand rifles and ammunition before retreating.
