Drink crazed man shoots on Rock Island train in Kansas
In a crowded chair car on Rock Island No. 5 west bound near Dresden Selden Kansas a man named Compton was killed after Italian barber John Bells fired multiple shots while intoxicated. Mrs Olson and her sister were wounded. Bells was overpowered with a razor drawn and arrested with Patrick Loganbradi as the train reached Goodland Kansas. The dead man was T B Topp a Minneapolis tailor. Mrs Olson as a newlywed from Arriba Colorado and her sister were taken to a hospital in Goodland.

Bad hailstorm west of the city causes garden damage
Ed Rowland, visiting from a milk ranch near Batistes Ford five miles west of town, reports a hailstorm yesterday afternoon lasting about three minutes. Enormous hail stones up to three inches wide shattered potato vines and leveled vegetation, with the center near Rowland's farm and Swanson's and Moreland's gardens less affected.
