Death Notice Leslie Hunzeker 23 Dies in Blackfoot

Leslie Hunzeker aged 23 died at his parents home in Blackfoot on Monday at 10 15 p m from a brain infection. Born March 4 1914 at Riverside he lived in Blackfoot and attended local schools. He married Laura May Van Orden in 1936. Surviving are his widow his parents and sister Ethel Honecker. Funeral planned Thursday 2 p m at First Ward chapel with Bishop James H Yancey officiating. Interment Grove City cemetery.

Severe hailstorm devastates Drannan Ellicott farming area

Colorado Springs report describes hailstones the size of golf balls destroying a 15 by 4 mile strip in the Drannan Ellicott district 20 miles east. J A Hickler says the storm ruined crops, killed many farm animals and shattered windows. he jokes about his cow’s tail being cut off by the hail.

Idaho druggists elected four new members to the state pharmacy board at the 31st annual Idaho Pharmacists convention held in Boise. A A Walker of Boise J P Hilliner of Pocatello W Wade Wilen of Cajaiah and Ezra Foss of Preston will serve three year terms. The association also recommended three present members for reappointment by the Law Enforcement Commissioner.

Idaho Southern Sees Largest Class Leave

Dr. Mexander Meikklejohn of Wisconsin addressed Idaho Southern University at the eleventh annual commencement in Frazier hall. The 191 graduates marched in past the Science building dining hall and Swanson hall while the University Symphony played. The program included invocations and selections by the A Cappella choir as graduates listened to talks on liberty and constitutional rights.

Lynde C. Smith shouted a warning and chased a mad police dog through suburban Bell toward children at play. He was bitten on the arm before the animal broke away. Smith cauterised his wound with lighted matches.

Funeral services for film star Jean Harlow held in Glendale

Funeral services for Jean Harlow, 26, held at Forest Lawn Glendale after her death from uremic poisoning. Her mother Mrs Marino Bello and former sweetheart William Powell provided flowers as thousands attended the ceremony in a restrained, homey tribute contrasting Hollywood excess.

Sundquist Pleads For Fair Funds

Eric Sundquist, secretary manager of the Eastern Idaho district fair, told the Rotary club of three counties underfunding the fair and asked Blackfoot business leaders to support it. A. E. Lucy P. Shive 79 wife of John Shive pioneer settler of Colorado Idaho and Montana was laid to rest at the First Methodist church Blackfoot. Services were led by Rev Charles D Pletcher with musical selections by Arthur Manwaring and Ruth Smith. Pallbearers included William Pendlebury Cecil Pendlebury Stanley King Guy Snyder Ralph Lenon and H M Anderson. Interment followed at Grove City cemetery.

Father to Fast For Three Days

A man named John N. Scott was sentenced by Recorder Taggart in Atlantic City New Jersey to three days in jail without food for selling three quarts of milk meant for his children and using the money to buy liquor. Witnesses testified the children starved during the three days. The judge warned that after serving three days the man would still face nine months more in a cell.
