Divorce and court actions at Olt LVII District Court

The Olt LVII District Court grants divorce to Mrs May B McCoy from Lewis R McCoy and to Mrs Rose O Connor from Timothy O Connor. A foreclosure is ordered for Ike Wolf as agent for The California Wine Co. against W R Robbins for 260.86 with 6 percent interest, plus $100 attorney fees. A demurrer in Charles Clay vs R H McElwain is overruled with leave to amend. The State v Park case ends in not guilty verdict after Park pleads not guilty to charges of wrongdoing.

Two Indians Hanged For Cruel Murder At Carson Prison

Johnny and Shopah, Etico Indians, were executed at the state prison in Carson after appeals failed to win commutation to life imprisonment. The murder of Fred Foreman occurred near Montello, Elko County, with Foreman killed by throat slashing and body burned in an abandoned hut. Johnny later attempted suicide in his cell with a broken iron tool before the hanging.

Newhouse Buys Pioche Mines in Nevada Deal

Sam Newhouse completes purchase of the Ohio Kentucky mining holdings at Pioche Nevada. The agreement includes Highland Springs water system and long water mains to the town with associated Alberta Susan Duster and other mines. Newhouse becomes president of Ohio-Kentucky, with plans to vigorously develop the porphyry ledge hosting high value silver lead gold ore.

They traveled the right of way between Pioche and Caliente and stated they would bid soon on the railroad construction, with May first proposed as Railroad Day by local residents.
