New Strike at Mendah Elevates Mining Prospects

Mendah Nevada Mining Co. Manager John R Cook returned with workers and supplies after a new strike at the 700 foot level opened a ore body five to six feet wide. The ore appears galena and lead carbonates. an assay engine is kept busy hoisting tonnage to the surface. Cook says the mine will become a leading shipper in the district.

Rumored Strike At Ida May Mine Bristol

The Ida May mine at Bristol is rumored to be struck with a large, decisive action. A reporter could not confirm details, but the mine’s history of strong ore production lends credibility. It is claimed W. A. Clark Jr. holds a bond and lease and will exercise it.

Water Rates Are Increased By The Probe Water Co

Stanley Forbes Extension to Begin Aggressive Development

Correspondence from Searchlight Nevada reports Stanley Forbes Extension plans immediate development on a rich vein south of the Stanley Forbes property. G. W. Moyer secures top equipment, Jos. McArthur sets water-level sinking, with shafts and trenching revealing three fissure veins and promising ore. The Nevada Girl vein shows surface hornings along 1500 feet and a 40‑foot shaft yielding quartz with several ounces per ton. Leasing the New Era mill and a trial run are planned, with the Searchlight Comstock awaiting machinery to resume sinking after a sensational 65‑foot depth strike.

W S Anderson, organizer of the Columbus Pioche and Georgia Pioche Mining Companies, returned from Ely and spoke of strong progress and plans to expand operations. Dr Thomas N Baker, a large investor, may provide funds to fully develop the Georgia Pioche property. Superintendent Mahedy oversees rapid work with potential increased force. Anderson will depart soon for the South to organize new ventures.

More Ore At Susan Duster Mine Stir Pioche

The Susan Duster mine owned by the Ohio Kentucky Company shows a growing ore body from the 100 to 300 foot levels with large, high grade ore. Telegraph service gains are announced with a plan to extend from Pioche to Panaca and connect to the Pioche line.
