The Philanthropist weekly is published by the Anti-Slavery Society at the corner of Main and Sixth streets in Cincinnati Ohio printed by Samuel A Alley.
The text portrays a Young Men's Association celebration in Albany honoring N. F. H. Wauriie of Smithfield Rhode Island. It extols abolitionist ideals and calls for liberty, unity, and divine blessing to disarm tyrants and unite the nation in a shared pledge to freedom. The verse exalts patriotic duty and moral uplift across the land.
George Russell of Kingston performed at Plymouth County Anti Slavery Society's July 4 gathering. The recitation urged courage against bondage, invoking Christ's teaching and the Creator to condemn slavery and demand liberty for the bondman.
A Glasgow public meeting at Wardlaw's Chapel urged Parliament to abolish the West India Apprenticeship and slavery. Speakers including Rev Wardlaw and Mr George Thompson criticized colonial policy, urged independent action, and warned that abolition hinges on ending the apprenticeship system and imperial abuses.
