William Hull a sailor was found in a ditch along the Hocking Valley tracks south of Walbridge with hands and feet frozen. He had left a Chicago Toledo-bound train Friday night drunk and stripped to swim. He was taken to Walbridge hotel and later to Wood County Infirmary where he is improving but badly injured.

A hunting accident Thursday left Harold Sera severely injured and Carl Ducat distraught. A Washington dispatch reports a new counterfeit ten dollar Buffalo note printed on two papers with silk fiber between. The face is grayish black and back dark bluish green. marked color differences reveal the deception when held with genuine notes. Also notes for silver certificates in circulation prompt bank caution.

The good roads law is attacked in the second annual report to Governor Harris by State Railroad Commissioner Sim Muston. The main flaw is the state pays 25 percent of road costs while counties and property owners cover the rest. It is urged the state fund half future improvements. Of 160000 appropriated this year only 3324.34 was spent. 120675.66 remains for next year. Money went to thirty counties with 48 counties making no effort under the law.
County officials reported clerk hire budgets under the new salary law at Saturday’s session. Most offices request higher salaries or extra help to cover additional bookkeeping needs for 1907, with several noting prior year costs and adjustments. Eugene Nigh of North Baltimore died aboard a Dayton and Toledo Interurban car near Maurine while en route to visit his daughter in Toledo. Coroner Faber of Lucas County investigated at J. W. Shook’s undertaking rooms. Nigh, about 50, is survived by his brother S. W. Nigh of North Baltimore. Remains returned to North Baltimore.
