Lakeside camp meeting reports debt shortfall and officers
The Lakeside camp association met and announced 550,000 raised to clear the Methodist retreat debt, but after collection costs and interest the deficit remains. Plans to raise the shortfall were discussed. officers for the coming year were elected, including President Dr L A Belt and Secretary Dr E T Hagerman. Was it murder Frank Collins found dead at Risingsun
Frank Collins a pumper at the George Vernon farm near Risingsun was found dead in a boiler house Saturday. The body showed head injuries and a burned cap, with investigators split between accident and foul play though some officials suspect possible foul intent. Collins, 27, was single and had no obvious troubles. His brother Alex Collins died recently in an oil tank near Bradner. Coroner and Dr. Root of Toledo weighed natural death versus foul play.

On Tuesday afternoon Tom Keller and several chums examined a revolver in a school setting. One boy suggested laying the weapon aside but the advice was ignored. The gun discharged accidentally, wounding Keller in the right calf. the injury is not considered dangerous.

An inmate Owen Shepp, 21, of Monocle Indiana, found a bottle of corrosive sublimate and drank it to taste the substance. He suffered severe stomach cramps, received medical care, and recovered though remains sore. He was bound over to the grand jury on a car breaking charge. Double Bereavement in Perryburg as Wetzel Couple Passes
Mrs. Jacob Wetzel died November 18 1900 at age 60 in Perryburg after a long illness. Jacob Wetzel followed two days later on November 21 1900 aged 64 years 10 months and days. Born in Nordham Germany the couple wed November 10 1857 and came to America in 1862. They left six children two died in infancy. William and Charles survived. Both bodies to be interred in Ft Meigs cemetery after funeral services. The community extends sympathy in the loss of a respected family.
