Postal department bans leaving loose coins in rural boxes for stamp purchases. Postmasters must warn patrons to stamp first class mail or use coin holding receptacles when stamps are bought. Appeals from Schroder court in Freedom township concern a dispute Edward Bursick versus Wm Dierksheide where the plaintiff claims $23 for work and $12 for horse use after a one year contract. the defense prevailed. Divorces granted to Alice Young and Ada B Sly with custody to plaintiffs, costs paid from deposit. A consumptive cough advertisement extols Dr King’s New Discovery for coughs and lung ailments with testimonials.
The Ohio effort to improve the state school system is voiced in a public meeting held in village school buildings. Citizens discuss needed improvements, teacher qualifications, centralization, supervision, and school buildings as social centers. Perrysburg aims to host a pre Thanksgiving event with no charge. The program features the school orchestra led by Miss Jean Hamilton and choruses from the grades.
Lime City held its School Survey Day with readings recitations songs and a keynote by Prof. W F Shaw Bowling Green Schools superintendent. The event chose Mr. T H Tinney as delegate and Mr. Charles Zingg as alternate to the State Educational Congress in Columbus December 5 and 6. Refreshments followed the program.

Last year volunteers distributed clothing toys and confections to fifty children. This year the Santa Claus Club publicized its effort but only three new donations arrived. A donation box will be placed in Perrysburg banks. No one is authorized to solicit money. Volunteers from Woodmen Circle WCTU Queen Esther girls and others join in dressing dolls and preparing gifts. The club elected officers Mrs Mills president Mrs Barton treasurer B L Blue secretary. The club rooms are at the Journal office. Do it now.
The Perrysburg Naps lost to Napoleon 35 to 0 on Sunday, their first defeat in two years and second in four. Napoleon’s hard football players outplayed the visitors, who were heavier and received a warm welcome from fans and players.
Bantam Ohio resident H Daly suffered a four year foot ulcer. Doctor urged amputation but he refused and tried Bucklen's Arnica Salve as a last resort.
