Passing of a Pioneer from Wood County
Edward DeVerna of Dunbridge, a prosperous Wood County farmer and devout Presbyterian, died last Friday after a long illness. Born in Westminster Abbey London in 1829, he came to Canada as a child, married Eliza Barfoot in 1857, and settled on a Timberlang farm before moving to Dunbridge. He served in Co L and O V V C during the war. Survived by wife and eight children, his funeral was conducted by Rev. Smith and he rests in Dowling Cemetery.

Serious Injury Threatens Life After Runaway Horse Accident
A. Be. Kulson, meat dealer of Walbridge, was seriously injured Wednesday evening when his horse bolted across Hocking Valley tracks. He was thrown, struck on the head, suffering a scalp gash and concussion. He remained unconscious for about an hour but his condition improved. surgeons placed stitches to close the scalp wound.
