To The Tax Payers of This County. A local advertisement urges farmers to insure their farm property with HOME OF NEW YORK the largest insurance company in America. It claims farmers are urged to promote the policy to friends and notes the company pays a large direct tax to the county on premiums received.
A glycerine magazine explosion near Galatea on Monday afternoon killed 40 year old Robert Durand who was unloading a load. The blast destroyed the magazine wagon and horses with debris scattered up to a mile, dust covering fences and surroundings. Durand, a married man, was delivering his third load when the explosion occurred.
Plan a summer outing of at least one day to Detroit emphasizing recreation and education. The article promotes a water route via the St Clair river to Belle Isle, highlighting beauty and low cost. It advertises the Greyhound steamer with 3,000 capacity and invites societies to book dates with J. W. Conran, Toledo, Ohio.

A dated report shows President deterring removal of War of 1812 remains buried at Fort Marge Ohio and from Indiana, pending funding of 100 bodies per $1,000, with officials saying no action will be taken for now while loyal citizens urge fort preservation. The letter from Deputy Quartermaster General Patton confirms no removal instructions forthcoming.

The Creamery is being overhauled and placed in good order. A church social hosted by Mrs Tinney, with attendees at the District Grand Lodge meeting in Tontogany Monday.
The Toledo listings announce a busy period at Burt's Theatre with Hust Lyone starring Miss May Forman, plus The Belle of New York at the Lyceum for four days starting Sunday. Scenic effects debut in Sportine Life at Burt's, Walls of New York arrives late next week, and Sol Smith Russell's company performs A Poor Relation at the Lyceum this week with a matinee Saturday.
