Beautiful Rustic Lodge Destroyed By Fire In Perrysburg

The home of Mr. W. S. Walbridge in the Mavinee valley was consumed by fire last Friday at about 10 am. Mrs. Walbridge tried to use a fire extinguisher but water could not reach the outside district so the blaze could not be checked. Most household goods were saved but silverware jewels and clothing were lost including a 2000 diamond necklace. The loss likely exceeds 20000 and the Walbridges, prominent Perrysburg residents, express regret over the destruction of their artful riverbank home.

Perrysburg Drops Second Game On Troubled Umpire Call

Perrysburg lost 5 to 4 in a Sunday game amid umpire controversy. After a shift in umpires the locals rallied, scoring four runs to beat the Trolley leaguers one. Fall Was Fatal Picked Up Live Wire

Michael Sheridan of Perrysburg, about 44, died Monday after falling from the Bowling Green railroad bridge over the Maumee River west of Perrysburg. He was found unconscious and died at Rheinfrante hospital. George Hufford suffered severe burns from a contact with a live wire near Cherrie Hight. Arthur Williams helped and also was knocked down but saved Hufford. Hufford remained unconscious for hours but is expected to recover. Williams and Hufford sustained burns and blisters.
