Killing at Ungar's saloon ends in death in Toledo area
Charles Brown formerly ran a Perrysburg saloon and recently at 3211 Monroe St Toledo. He was shot and killed by a neighbor after Brown threatened to kill every Jew in the neighborhood. The shooting occurred as Brown brandished a bottle and spoke, then Ungar fired hitting Brown in the chest and lung, dying minutes later. A separate common pleas court injunction blocked Perrysburg mayor and clerk from selling $15 000 bonds for Louisiana avenue paving, delaying the project. Bond sale and delivery were not yet completed.
