Ring recovered after ten years in Ohio town

Ten years after Mrs Sammel Hayes lost her wedding ring on the Maumee pike near Woodville while throwing dish water the ring was found while searching for fish worms. The discovery coincided with the Hayes silver wedding anniversary celebrated last Saturday and the ring was returned.

Ohio War Savings Committee invites editors and patriotic citizens to participate in three June campaigns. From June 3 to 15 bi-partisan canvass, June 17 to 22 School Sammy Million Dollar Week, and June 24 to 28 National War Savings Pledge Week culminated by June 28 Proclaimed National War Savings Pledge Day. The effort seeks widespread publicity and sale of display ads to support War Savings Stamps quotas statewide. Publicity materials will be provided and inquiries may contact the Journal.

Mayor Declares War Savings Week June 24 1918

The Secretary of the U S Treasury and the Ohio Governor designate the week of June 24 1918 as War Savings Week urging residents to pledge saving and investing in War Savings Stamps. Citizens may hold up to 1000 dollars maturity value 834 present cost per person and in family names. Stamps offer 4.279 percent interest. Continued on Fourth Page.
