Fourth of July Festivities Highlight Perrysburg Celebration
On the third day of July a Perrysburg Fourth of July celebration drew a large orderly crowd from town and nearby cities. The morning parade, races, and a humorously slippery greased pole entertained as Hon. A. R. Campbell spoke despite fireworks and toy pistols filling the air. A horse race ended tragically with an injured rider and a horse dying from a burst blood vessel. The event concluded with Campbell praising the nation while the crowd enjoyed a day of orderly revelry and community pride.
