Mr. B. W. King of the Perrysburg area suffered the loss of three fingers on his left hand when it contacted a buzz saw while cutting wood. Ray Mandell, 8 miles east of Perrysburg, injured his right hand with the same machine. his first finger was cut back and had to be removed, and he was taken to Rheinfrank hospital.

The Maumee Valley Pioneer and Historical Association held its annual Toledo meeting on Saturday and, by unanimous vote, urged legislative and patriotic societies to join in a movement to mark historic sites in the Maumee valley. Officers elected include President D. Hollenbeck and Vice President D. Van Voorhis.
George H. Lowry writes from Pueblo Colorado in February 1914 describing a fine but interrupted trip. He notes an illness Grippe delaying plans to visit Santa Fe and Albuquerque and praises western farmers hospitality while observing reclamation projects and Pueblo’s single tax experiment. He highlights the value of individuality over family status and asks friends to remember him kindly as he plans to return home by March.
Mr J H Peterson aged 67 died at his Lime City home in Wood County on Sunday February 22 1914. Born in Germany he came to Wood County about 38 years ago. He leaves a widow four daughters and one son. Funeral service held at Lime City church Tuesday Roy Bora officiating with burial at Ft Meigs cemetery. Also an advertisement touts Chamberlains Tablets for stomach trouble as a remedy.
A former Perrysburg boy W A Lewis writes from Marysville California recalling a bygone Ohio visit. He lists many local figures and places from Front Street to the D M line, describing shops, residents, and the town’s atmosphere, ending with a nostalgic plea that those who once lived there feel a lasting pull to return.
