The town of Walbridge filed a petition with county Commissioners to become an incorporated village. The petition was granted at last Friday’s meeting and required filings with the Recorder. The note hints at succession planning for village officers and the potential for a future mayoral position.
Frederick Schwind 88 Civil War II veteran died at the home of his daughter Mrs Elizabeth Fisher 184 Oak Toledo Sunday. Survived by two daughters Mrs Fisher Mrs Barbara Jensen Waterville and one son J J Schwind Toledo. Lived in Toledo 21 years from Perrysburg where he served as sexton Fort Meigs cemetery. Served three years in Civil War with 111th O V I. Affiliated with Ford post G A R. Funeral from his home at 11 a m Tuesday led by Rev J H Holtkamp Salem German M E church. Service also at Perrysburg German M E church and burial Fort Meigs cemetery Perrysburg.
The M E Sunny School reports rising attendance with 25 present last Sunday and 36 enrolled toward a hoped-for 50. Over 25 new members joined in recent months as plans for a Glee Club to provide church music were discussed at a Wednesday night meeting led by E E Mansnatt.
A quiet Valentine wedding occurred February 14 when Frederick J. Dauer of this place and Amanda Theobold of Toledo married at the residence of Maurice Cook. The bride was attended by Miss Rose Heffner and the groom by Walter Allman. Friends extended best wishes.

The Bowling Green Normal School will be built in the city with June contract award pending. Supin B Williams of Sandusky schools elected president by the trustees and the school will be named Bowling Green Normal School. Williams, a respected educator, will take charge in September 1913.
A large gathering of leading veterinary surgeons in Ohio organized the Huckeye Veterinary Medical Association in Columbus on Monday the 18th. Louis Chapman of Perrysburg was elected president, with Dr Otto C. Alapach serving as secretary and treasurer to promote fellowship and safeguard the livestock industry.
