George Tippen, husband of murdered Billa Tippen killed by Dr Green at Weston, secured a license to wed Iva L Starr in the fall. Starr had recently divorced her husband. The couple plans to reside in Weston. Tippen was not living with Billa Tippen when she was shot by Green.
J J Coon of Toledo a leading figure in Wood county business died Saturday after a brief illness. He recently had his left leg amputated due to gangrene and had announced retirement from active work after selling his grain interests and leaving the Commercial Bank.
The family of Robert Householder of Scotch Ridge mourns Pied Householder who died last Wednesday after a long illness of consumption. He was 22 and survived by two brothers and two sisters Charles of Pemberville Bert Mrs Burgess and Mrs Walker of Scotch Ridge. Funeral services were held on Friday with many friends in attendance. Fred was praised for excellent character and brilliant mind and his loss will be felt widely in the community.
Nathaniel F. Shipton sues for divorce from Laura J. Shipton alleging a quarrelsome disposition and prolonged separation since January 1908. The court reports road petition dismissals, a not guilty ruling for Claude Huber in a horse theft case, embezzlement plea by E. Vaughn, and various divorce decisions by Judge Fries. Additional notes cover damages suits, minor child support case, and criminal sentences for Wood county prisoners.

Elmer G Stearns 56 is killed instantly when struck by an Ohio Central passenger train while walking along the tracks in Bowling Green on Monday evening. Sheriff Reees and Deputy Shuetafi captured Frank McGuire, linked to the gang that killed Marshal Thornton last November. They tracked him to Rossford, where he attempted to flee, and he was arrested near Fassett Street Bridge. McGuire, with a prior robbery record, is in custody at B.G. awaiting further development. Wood County officers praise the arrest as a strong step against the gang’s activities in Perrysburg.
Martin Kirby while jailed for the Perrysburg shooting denies making any confession regarding Marshal Frank Thornton. He challenges a February 12 News-Bee report attributing a confession to him and says he is innocent and unaware of the case. He asks for publication of his denial in print.
