Eight year old Furry Gill son of George Gill was gravely maimed when near G H D Gopot a railcar wheel crushed his foot as a train moved by. A fellow child pulled him free just in time to prevent further injury. Surgeons amputated part of the limb though doctors hope the foot may be saved.

In Wood County Ohio the county commissioners adopt a heavy haul tire width resolution. Vehicles carrying loads 2 000 pounds and over must meet minimum tire widths increasing with weight. The Masonic Home trustees will convene in Springfield on February 18. During the year there were three deaths James R. Wallace of Mt. Vernon Marshall Pepper of Sidney and Luther B. A Monday night special session of Maumee council examined right of way applications and ordinances from the Toledo, Napoleon and Defiance railway and the Toledo and Maumee Valley line. Fare rates proposed include 10 cents single trips Maumee to Toledo and various ticket packages. A committee was appointed to review the ordinances at a meeting next Monday.
The final session of the Tri County Farmers Institute was held in Grand Rapids on Saturday. Large attendance and lively discussions marked the event. State speakers included S. Ellis of Delta T. J. Miller of Leipste and G. C. Housekeeper of Bowling Green. Officers elected were C. Sterling president Jobo Bamer secretary treasurer Eli Culbertson Henry county and W. G. Farneworth Lucas county on the executive committee. Musical numbers were a pleasing feature and Grand Rapids proved a pleasant venue.

Mrs Blasius awoke vomiting and collapsed as coal gas filled the home on Saturday morning. Milton Center resident John Blasius crawled to a window and called for help. A doctor arrived and revived Mrs Blasius and her husband, who remained gravely ill for days.

Baker, and several ladies, with special regard shown to Mr. Van Norman for his hospitality.
