Narrow Escape As Train Crushes Wagon Near Millbury
Robert Tiplady, a Millbury area farmer, escaped with no injuries when his wagon was struck by Sandusky accommodation train No 51 at a Lake Shore crossing west of town. Both horses were killed and the wagon demolished after he leaped away just before impact. Mrs A R Tabor of Crider Mo reports relief from a five year ago sick headache after using Chamberlains Tablets, two bottles said to cure stomach related headaches.

Pigs Have Rights Awarded Five Cents
Humane Officer Gangwer filed a warrant against Gust Kries of Winchell farm for neglecting pigs. Hogs lived in mud with frozen backs and a six to twelve inch mud bed. Kries pleaded guilty before Justice Plummer. fined five dollars plus costs totaling 10.75 dollars due to sale of farm and renter status. Judge Baldwin presided in the Findlay case on George H. Phelps v Ohio Oil Co Solar Refining Buckeye Pipe Line and Standard Oil. directed verdict of nominal damages five cents for Phelps. costs charged to defendants. Phelps claimed anticompetitive conduct harmed his oil leases.

School Notes from Pemberville Second Quarterly Institute
The Teachers' Second Quarterly Institute will be held at Pemberville on Saturday February 8. A very interesting program has been prepared and a large attendance is hoped for. The Seniors had their final exam in American History on Monday afternoon. On Tuesday the Agriculture class took their final assessment. Vincent Wilson has returned to the eighth grade after several weeks absence. In history the eighth grade is drawing maps and tracing the campaigns of 1863. Thelma Honner is absent from the fifth grade due to sickness. Josephine Curtis has returned to the fifth grade after a two week absence.
