Near miss on C AH D line saves trapped rider
William Rice of Tontogany heard cries and a distant train after retirement. He sprang with a lantern and flagged a passenger train on the C AH D track to prevent a collision with David Mitchell and a horse stuck in a culvert. The train crew freed the horse and the train continued safely.
