New Century Club Township Schools Meeting and Attendance report
The New Century Club met January 25 at Mrs. Frank Hollenbeck's home to study Lowell with quotations from his writings. Mrs. Bradfield gave a sketch of Lowell's life, and Mrs. Hol Jenbeck read The Courier. The Vision of Sir Launfal was studied, refreshments followed, and the next meeting is February 8 at Mrs. Maurice Cook's Front Street home. District attendance reports show 301 daily attendees of 47, total enrollment. no tardies in some districts. overall attendance around 75 percent and 40 pupils absent daily. district No. 9 leads at 98 percent, No. 18 trails at 84 percent. 13 new pupils enrolled, 17 left, 43 visitors in the month.

Fire on Third Street Destroys Brockenberger House
Firemen and neighbors quickly suppressed a blaze at the Brockenberger home on Third Street after noon last Monday. The chimney is blamed for starting the fire, which damaged the building and its contents mainly from water. The occupants were at home and believed the fire extinguished before a call could be made.
