Hidden foes close by brothers in arms share fate
Lieut Colonel George Greenhalgh of the 185th Field Artillery and his brother in law Langdon Walbridge served abroad in the same war theater without realizing they were near each other. Greenhalgh trained for overseas duty in Texas while Walbridge, initially rejected, later enlisted and fought at Verdun and St Michel, 25 miles apart, before crossing paths.
