Toledo Courier Journal reports a syndicate bought 207 acres including the Fallen Timbers site for a club house costing 5000 dollars. The club house will be owned by automobile owners and fitted for their use, to be built behind Turkey Foot rock with the rock set on a pedestal. The club is to be incorporated this week and ground work to start soon.
William H. Bryant, a North Baltimore liveryman and alleged firebug, faces a suit by A. W. Lee to undo a property transfer to his wife Mary J. Bryant as a colorable $2,500 transaction. The claim says the 40 acre Henry Township farm and a North Baltimore lot were deeded May 27 to evade creditors, while Bryant faces an arson indictment for burning Jeff Richcreek’s furniture store in 1896 and is held on bond. The transfer seeks to enable Lee to collect a $145 note due in 60 days. The case may be delayed, likely closing the criminal docket at month’s end.
The Citizens' Banking Co. answers Millie Hillard's suit requesting a temporary injunction to stop disposal of Hillard assets held in the bank's care. The bank claims Hillard’s husband Robert Hillard rented a safety box, removed the key, and neither the key nor box contents are in the bank's possession. The bank moves to dissolve the injunction and dismiss the suit.

A Port Clinton brakeman, Asa Gerner, was killed Friday near East Toledo when a passenger engine struck him as he stood beside his train after the siding. Edith A Mackey accuses Chas Mackey of desertion and paying fines with marital funds after selling household furniture for liquor. He alleges numerous irregularities including juror note taking on witness measurements and a juror appearing asleep. Tester St Clair aged 10 and Jesse St Clair aged 1 of Prairie Depot were arraigned before Squire Nearing at B G Friday afternoon on charges of throwing stones at Ohio Central trains.
