An English crew from the Spartan and American sailors from the Petrel fought in a Shanghai saloon after a light from the Spartan was seen as an insult. Bottles and knives were used. several Englishmen were injured and the Spartan crew faced an official inquiry with a ruling against them.
A full blood Choctaw man Charlea Homes was shot at the Pashmoataha court grounds nine miles west of here after being led from the courthouse and blindfolded. Deputy Sheriff Bob Jackson fired, missing the heart shot, and Homes died ten minutes later. The incident followed services held at the courthouse.

A large crowd disrupted services at the Polish Catholic Church of St Anielona as Bishop Hichter and Father Motkowski arrived to address internal tensions over the pastorate. Police advised restraint as the 1000 strong mob gathered, a woman’s parasol reportedly caused a ministerial blow amid the confusion. The church, briefly guarded, later returned to normal until the incident faded from immediate action.
