The Hocking Valley Editorial association held its annual session at the Great Southern hotel in Columbus. President John L. Trauger gave the annual address and a resolution endorsed Leo Hirsch for public printer. Officers were elected with Trauger as president and Hirsch as executive committeeman. Some delegates urged moving the next meeting from Columbus, but the group voted to return to the city.
Mrs Ellen Armstrong died at her West Cheatnut street home Saturday night around 11 80. She aged about 70, had neuralgia of the heart and had lived in Lancaster since moving from near Adelphi. She leaves two sons Charles and John Floyd and two daughters Mrs Ell Hedges and Mrs Charles Kerns. She was sister to Mrs Danl Ackers and Darius White. Ackers was at her bedside.

The Uniform Bank Knights of Pythias held a Wednesday evening inspection at the armory with Col Enis and Lt Col Silbaugh presiding. Two new members were mustered. officers for the year were installed and a banquet at Rempel Hotel followed with praise for Logan Company and regimental officers.

Notestone Noah Nunemaker John F. Reed D. C. Walker R. M. Gibeon appear among the recognized educators for extended service and appointment.
A reader from Morganton Tennessee reports a scalp head outbreak treated with Backlen’s Arvica Salve, claimed to cure eczema tetter and boils. The ad asserts a guaranteed cure and lists various conditions with a price of 260 at Case’s drug store.
An advertisement touts Hotanic Blood Balm as a cure for blood poison scrofula ulcers and bone pains. It claims B B B destroys the syphilitic poison in blood and offers a free trial by mail with medical guidance and over 80 testimonials.
