The Lancaster Republican reports deep regret over Judge Bright's defeat for renomination to the Senate, with calls that the convention nominee still earn the county vote. It notes other Senate seats where incumbents renominated or retired, plus local political fallout from the loss.

The Marietta Cadets about 60 strong camp in Logan at the old Bunts House with a well drilled unit. Led by Capt H A Wendleken and Col H E Knox the group includes Lieuts Moore Dewey and Theis and surgeon Dr F Mitchell. They plan a week of drills and parades during their Logan stay. The text also notes Cuban policy commentary and an osteopathy ad.
The Logan Gas and Fuel Company drilled a monster gas well on the Mathias farm in Good Hope township Hocking county last evening. The well is touted as one of the company's best, with local land largely leased to sugar grove field suppliers.
