Dredge to be Installed in Kougarok District

A dredge will be put into operation in the Kougarok district near Nome as the first of its kind in the northern country. Howard Bennett Frank Wringstrom and K G Brill backed the project after promising prospecting at Quartz Creek three miles above its mouth. The machine, about half the size of Leland or Nome Mining dredges, will begin when frost leaves the ground, with work expected to start mid August.
