Tax Bill Halving Seen By Legislators At Oak Hills
State Representatives Norman A. Murdock and Gordon M. Scherer told Oak Hills Board of Education that the Ohio Legislature will likely approve only about half of Gov. Gilligan's proposed $1.9 billion tax package. They expect roughly $800 million for school aid and support tax limits for welfare and Medicaid to be kept modest. The Board set its next meeting for April 26 at C O Harrison Elementary and plans to co author an alternate tax bill aimed for late May with hearings in June and a House passage expected by July.

Cubs Clean Up Delhi Park in Earth Week Drive
Cub Scout Pack 350 sponsored by Delshire PTA led by Cubmaster Don Yazell kicked off Earth Week by cleaning Delhi Township Park on Foley Rd. Fifty two boys were supervised by den mothers and dads as they tidied the park entrance kiddie playground and shelter house area then enjoyed a wiener and marshmallow roast.

Oak Hills Junior Woman's Club Wins Major Ohio Awards
The Oak Hills Junior Woman's Club earned 20 awards at the Ohio Federation of Women's Clubs convention, placing fourth among 506 clubs in 1970. They took the Junior Pre-School Education Trophy for Allen House kindergarten, run by members and volunteers three mornings weekly, plus four evening cooking lessons for teens. They won the Project Concern Plaque for puppet shows and a March of Dimes Service Award plaque for layettes. Elder High School students Barry Heheman and Tim Tepe received a $250 scholarship and second place ribbons for art sponsored by the club.

Brief Auction For Firemen
