Freight cars crash into plant walls at Roads Poultry Plant
About 1 pm last Saturday the B and O railroad cars left the track at the Roads Poultry Plant striking the north wall of the Ohio Utilities plant. The hollow tile wall 24 by 21 feet was torn away, a steel girder bent a near circle, and a switchboard area narrowly avoided damage. Brakeman Brooks jumped onto a coal pile to escape the debris.

County School Honor List Encourages Perfect Attendance
Clinton County launches an Honor List system to reward schools and pupils with perfect or near perfect monthly attendance. October results show Farrer school at 100 percent, Antram and Hopewell at 99.5, Farmers Station 99.2, Morrisville 98.7, and Rattlesnake 98.1 percent. Schools below 98 percent are ineligible for the honor roll.

December Taxes Ready For December 1 Collection
Officials in the County Auditor and County Treasurer offices have worked for weeks to ready the December tax collection set to begin December 1. The tax rate table is nearly complete with only a few specials remaining, and books have been brought to readiness for listing taxes. Treasurer W A Bailey said the office will publish a notice if readiness slips to inform taxpayers.

Mrs. Sallie Callaway Dies After Weeklong Illness
Mrs. Sallie Callaway of near Dunns Chapel died Monday night after a week of illness. She is survived by her husband and two children. Funeral services are at 1 00 P M today at the home with burial in Hillsboro Cemetery. She was about 75 and a sister of Frank Mitchell.

Xenia Boy Loses Right Foot After Train Accident
Walter Bowermaster a 12 year old Xenia resident was struck by a Pennsylvania train Tuesday at 9 45 am. He was taken to Espey Hospital where surgeons amputated his foot and later another operation was needed. He said he walked along the tracks when his foot caught and the train struck him. The incident is believed to have occurred while he attempted a hockey ride from school.
