Boy Shoots Himself Near East Danville
Maurice Carr, 17, son of Mr and Mrs H H Carr near East Danville, accidentally shot himself in the left leg Saturday afternoon. The bullet entered about six inches above the knee, deflected, and lodged near the joint. He was treated at Hillsboro Hospital, an X-ray showed the bullet but it was not removed. If no complications arise the wound is not serious.

Former NFW Vienna Teacher Arrested
Miss Margaret Boyd, a Franklin township high school teacher at Locust Grove in Adams County, was arrested last Friday by Constable Frank Sailsberry on a warrant from Squire J. H. McCoy's Court charging assault and battery on Ora Hildebbran, a senior pupil. The father Henry Hildebran swore the affidavit. Boyd waived examination and was bound over to the Grand Jury with bond for court appearance. Her home is near Lynchburg, Highland County. She had taught in local schools for years.

Mrs Turner Dies After Two Years of Cancer

Mrs Adna Zimmerman 54 Dies at Snow Hill Home
Mrs Adna Zimmerman wife of A L Zimmerman of the Snow Hill neighborhood died at home on the Wilmington pike Monday night after a two week illness. Funeral services were held at the Zimmerman home Thursday morning conducted by Rev H S Snyder of the Christian Church New Antioch. Burial was in the local cemetery. Surviving are her husband her mother Mrs Daniel Fenner of Marion and three sisters Mrs Effie Johnson Marion Mrs Jessie Cantrill Dayton and Mrs Nellie Seaman Springfield.
